    Substitute teaching is a great opportunity to be a mentor and help students become the best versions of themselves. Vigo County School Corporation partners with Kelly Education, a leading provider of substitute teachers to school districts across the U.S to manage our substitute program.

  • The Vigo County School Corporation will assist applicants with driver training!

    Once you have applied, you will receive a background check invitation from Human Resources via e-mail. Applicants are responsible for paying for the background check.

    Next, pick up a CDL booklet at the BMV. Study the General Knowledge, Passenger Transport, School Bus Endorsement, and Air Brakes sections. Questions and answers may also be found at the My BMV Page.

    After the background check is received, our Transportation Supervisor will contact you to complete a CDL pre-employment physical and TB test.

    Call Transportation at 812-426-4341 when you have completed all four tests at the BMV, the CDL physical, and the Class B permit. Applicants are responsible for paying for the Class B permit.

    The last step is driver training with one of our trainers.

Through a partnership with ProactiveMD, the Vigo County School Corporation provides an employee health center.

The service is free with VCSC insurance and employees without insurance may be able to join as well.
